Me and my wife stayed at this resort couple of days ago. This property has been recently taken over by Fern management (I was told) and I must say they have done a good job to keep it clean and worth visiting once.
Rooms are nice and compact with all basic facilities that you can look for in a simple yet serene holiday getaway. It gives you a feel of living in a villa especially if you opt for front facing with balcony or porch for morning cuppa!
Their restaurant Silk Route is quaint and set aside the mini swimming pool that gives a different vibe to the place. Food was delicious with all their serving staff and friendly chefs eager to serve you with some delectable dishes.
Special mention to all these staff members there for their exceptional service:
Sumit Chaurasia
Chef Jagarnath
Chef Amrit
Kundan
Satish
Mukesh
Avinash
Rahul
Shishir
We just returned from a quick family staycation at this property by FERN and it was a mixed bag of delights and dealbreakers. Let's break it down!
The food stole the show – absolutely amazing flavors, with the chef being super attentive to our requests. They catered perfectly to our needs, making every meal a highlight. Staff were friendly and hosted us like pros, ensuring a pleasant stay overall.
Space utilization is spot-on: great play areas for kids and family bonding, and it's not a massive property, which kept things cozy. Location-wise, it's perfect – super close to Mumbai, ideal for a short getaway.
But here's the honest part: It's right by the highway, so vehicle noise and views seep into the rooms, killing the "nature escape" vibe. It felt more like an extension of city life than a serene break. Worst of all, the pools were poorly maintained with gunk and soil residues – a total dealbreaker for us.
A bit pricey, but worth it for the food and family play spots.
A well maintained resort tucked on the Highway with quaint wooden cottages with spacious rooms, mini garden with sitouts and swimming pools. Very cooperative, friendly and attentive managers and servers including Ranjana, Sumit, Shishir, Avinash, always ready to help and enquire about guest requirements. Even Chef Singh would everyday enquire about the quality of food and our general comfort. They provided a very homely atmosphere for us at the resort. Overall feel at the resort is idyllic and cosy, though it is situated bang on the highway.
My stay at Fren Hotel Karjat was highly disappointing. The rooms are very basic, poorly maintained, and not worth the price.
Cleanliness standards are below expectations for a paid hotel stay. Food quality is poor with very limited options and no proper spread.
The food served does not justify the charges at all. The hotel location is inconvenient and not appealing. Staff behaviour is unprofessional and lacks hospitality. Information provided by staff is often misleading. Commitments made during booking were not fulfilled. Guest concerns are not handled properly. Overall experience offers no value for money.
I would strongly advise traveler to choose better alternatives.
This is my first visit here. The place is excellent. The rooms were clean and the pools were being cleaned regularly. Their restaurant SILK ROUTE seems to be very famous. We had our meals here, the food is superb and the service is excellent. Two service staff Sumit Chaurasia and Mukesh kumar were kind and proactive. Chef Jagannath served delicious meal. All the starters and the main course were really tasty. The stand out was pasta prepared by Chef Lama. The best one probably I ever had. It's a good family place with clean rooms. It had a play area for kids.Surprisingly there were no mosquitoes as well at night. Overall a really good experience.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful resort. It took us 1.5 hours from Mumbai Central to reach the location, its right on the highway and is easily locatable. The parking is just outside the resort.
Though compact in size, it is incredibly well-designed and equipped with every facility one could possibly need. The moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and hospitality that continued throughout our stay. We opted for a deluxe room which costed us 4600/- approx. on a weekday.
The staff deserves special appreciation—every single member was attentive, courteous, and always ready to help, no matter how small the request was given that i was visiting with two kids. Their professionalism and demeanour made the experience feel very comforting for us.
And the food at the Silk Route in-house restaurant—absolutely mind-blowing! Every meal was delicious, served in generous portions, and prepared with great care. It truly felt like a feast each time.
What stood out the most was how effortlessly the resort took care of all our requirements, making everything feel seamless and stress-free. Their commitment to guest satisfaction is remarkable.
Overall, this resort is a gem—compact yet complete, warm yet professional, and perfect for a relaxing, memorable getaway. Highly recommended!
Sunset view through the mountains, wooden cottage styled villas and great food..what more can we ask for!!
