Stayed here during office outting. It's a good but old property. Has direct access to beach. Location wise this is slightly away from main area hence getting cabs or a rikshaw from here is difficult. If you are planning to stay here, travellingin in your own vechile is recommended. The food quality is average.
Let me brief you my experience for 2 night stay
1. Travelling to the location is too much difficult as the roads are under construction and the dust on the road is pathetic. Go on a ac cab you will not have any problem.
2. The receptionist and the staff are very young and they only know their core job they do. If I ask about the property and nearby than they are not aware of that. Otherwise the staffs are cooperative.
3. I booked sea facing room and luckily got room in 4th floor. Outside the room it is a little bit smelly but manageable. Rooms are good and hygienic. The only problem i faced was the warm water was not even warm. I urge the team to fix this is someone wants to have bath in a hot water.
4. The best thing about this place is the overall activities like swimming pool, garden, playing area and connected to beach. The place is really good to hangout with friends and family.
5. We had lunch and breakfast in the restaurant which is good. I cannot say the food was great but it was good.
Overall the experience was good and Mumbaikars can plan for a night stay if someone wants to just chill for a weekend.
As a filmmaker, I frequently travel to Mumbai for shoots, and The Retreat has always been my preferred stay. Despite being far from the city, we still choose this hotel every time simply because of the vibe and the peaceful surroundings.
But this time, I am genuinely disappointed.
For a property that claims to be a 5-star hotel, the breakfast menu is shockingly limited. Even most 3-star hotels offer a wider and better spread. The lack of options is not just surprising it’s unacceptable for a hotel positioned at this category and price point.
I truly hope the management takes this seriously and improves the quality and variety of their breakfast menu. Loyal guests deserve better.
This place offers an truly awesome experience with direct beach access and a beautiful view that can't be beaten. It's a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.
However, there are two significant drawbacks to consider. The main issue is the foul smell of dry Bombay ducks in the area, which at times is hard to stand and significantly detracts from the otherwise perfect ambiance.
Additionally, the hotel has a strict policy regarding food. If you haven't booked their lunch or dinner packages and decide to order food from outside, the hotel does not provide basic amenities like plates or cutlery. This can be inconvenient, so plan accordingly.
Overall, great location, but these are a couple of things potential guests should know about before booking.
The property is humangus. I personally loved their swimming pool. Its spread across a big area and they have build few cabanas type in certain sections of the pool which gave vibes like swimming 🏊 though caves.
Their rooms are also very good.
The only thing to note is that, in the open area the smell of the dry fish is disgusting, as the hotel is near the beach. And thats the hotel issue but in general the entire area faces this issue.
