Tata Trust Small Animal Hospital,Extremely distressing experience
My dog, Brownie, was under treatment with Dr. Rohit and had started recovering, he was eating, drinking, and stable. In Dr. Rohit’s absence, Dr. Ankush handled the case for one day and administered a blood transfusion and very high doses of medication. After this, my dog’s condition worsened suddenly, and he passed away the next morning.
I witnessed similar cases where recovery was expected but pets of another owner deteriorated after heavy medication and in complex cases this hospital seems to recommend PTS by default. It is disappointing that a hospital running in the name of Tata Trusts appears more focused on high charges than careful and compassionate care.
I strongly advise pet parents to be cautious and seek second opinions.
1) Hospital is not good for complex situations , they always suggest PTS.Immatured doctors (2 to 4 years doctors passed out from Mumbai veterinary).
2) Hospital focus on money
3) Security informs to assistance to clean before visiting random means your dog are not keep in proper cleaning.

I have been taking my pet, Buddy (a Labrador Retriever), to Tata Small Animal Hospital for the past few months for arthritis treatment. I am extremely satisfied with the care provided by Dr. Gaurangi, whose treatment has enabled Buddy, at 11.7 years of age, to move freely without medication or pain.
Recently, a small ulcerating tumour was detected near his rectum. Initially, Dr. Hamid advised against surgery due to age-related anesthesia risks. However, after careful consideration, we decided to proceed to prevent further complications. The surgery was successfully conducted yesterday, and Buddy was discharged the same day. He is now recovering well at home.
I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Hamid, Dr. Reana, and the entire team for their dedicated care and professionalism. While the facility may be relatively expensive for some, it offers excellent medical treatment, complete transparency in processes and costs, and outstanding service.
I am deeply disappointed and concerned about the way injured street animals are being treated.
There is a street dog in our area suffering from a severe skin infection. The dog is bleeding and clearly in pain. When we approached your organization for help, we were told that fees would be charged for treatment.
This is extremely upsetting because organizations and trusts that claim to work for the welfare of stray animals should prioritize urgent medical care and compassion, especially in emergency cases. Many residents try to help street animals out of kindness, but not everyone can afford veterinary fees.
When a dog is bleeding and suffering from infection, immediate treatment should not be delayed because of payment issues. These animals depend entirely on human kindness and on organizations that exist to protect them.
If such services are not accessible or affordable, then the purpose of animal welfare organizations becomes questionable.
I sincerely request that this matter be taken seriously and that urgent treatment be provided to this injured street dog as soon as possible.
Street animals deserve care and dignity, and organizations meant to protect them should be the first to respond with compassion — not conditions.
I hope immediate action will be taken.
It was a surreal evening, I was out of the blue discussing with my son the Ratan Tata trust hospital for small animals, and was praising even without having a first hand experience of the facility just because we had spent a cool 14 years with Mr Tata’s company and always felt like family. Had met him only once ! Next morning heard the news of his demise 😢
Our 11 years young 🤗 pet Toto is really fortunate to be one of many pets who are enjoying good health through SAH.
Recently a surgery was performed on Toto by the very capable doctors of SAH.
And were showered with so much love as a pet parent and much more on our pet, you start feeling it’s your maika 😀
And this extra love and understanding along with the best facilities and expertise is making SAH a boon for Mumbaikars.Thank you SAH !
