As soon as you enter the lobby of this hotel, you're enveloped in the lovely scent of flowers. The atmosphere is elegant.
Among other things, I really appreciated the musician who played live every morning, providing a wonderful moment of harmony.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious.
The breakfast is good and varied.
The only downside was the lack of information about activating the WiFi and other room amenities.
Taj Mahal Palace — A Classic Taj Experience
I had originally booked a stay at the Taj Tower, but to my pleasant surprise the hotel upgraded us to the Taj Mahal Palace — a wonderful gesture that immediately elevated our experience.
I was travelling with my parents and my nephew, and they absolutely loved the stay. The property carries a timeless charm and elegance, and the overall experience truly reflects the luxury and legacy of the Taj brand.
The rooms were comfortable and beautifully maintained, and the service throughout the stay was warm and professional. The staff ensured we felt welcomed and taken care of, which made the experience even more memorable for my family.
The only small drawback was that the hotel was extremely crowded, which led to about an hour’s waiting time for check-in. However, given the popularity of the property, it was understandable and the rest of the stay more than made up for it.
Overall, the comfort, heritage atmosphere, and attentive service made it a special stay. The Taj Mahal Palace remains one of those iconic hotels that truly delivers a memorable experience.
Simply pleasant and something to remember forever. The hospitality is extremely welcoming and warm. They took care of even the smallest of things and as we were there to celebrate a birthday, they even went beyond to make it special for us with delicacies, cakes and a wonderful spread of breakfast.

This hotel is just beyond amazing and has been since the first minute we walked in the door.
They have a scanner like the airports coming in the door so its very very safe.
The checkin is amazing and we arrrived early after a long flight we were accomodated with and early checking and a free breakfast which was also beyond amazing.
Everything about the hotel shone of friendship, quality in every aspect, food, surroundings I have never experienced anythling like it before and i have stayed in many places throught the world.
I had a wee teddy on my bed and the lovely housekeeping chap, let me another similar once with it, i left glasses beside my laptop and they have given me a small paper bag with a glass cleanig cloth, petals ont he bed at night, they tidy up your phone wires with a little clasp to keep them neat. I had no idea how people even thought of these small treats.
If you want top class luxury this is the place to be, it is also very conveniently located. I could write an essay on the quality of the hotel, its staff and surroundings.
We had an outstanding stay at the Taj Mahal Tower, Mumbai, and I want to begin by recognizing the truly incredible service from Reitish Choudhary, Vandita at reception, manager Humani, and Anand, the house car driver. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail set the tone from the moment we arrived.
The hotel itself is a landmark in every sense. The grandeur of the building is immediately striking, and the location right by the Gateway of India makes it truly remarkable—there’s a sense of history and energy around you at all times. It feels iconic, and it’s hard to imagine a better base in Mumbai.
The rooms are excellent—nothing spectacular in terms of size or layout, but very well furnished, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable, with everything you’d expect from a top-tier property.
One important note: if your room faces the port side rather than the city side, you should be prepared for significant noise from weddings and festivities, which can run late and be quite loud. It’s part of the area’s vibrancy, but worth knowing if you’re a light sleeper.
What really stood out, though, was the support when real-life travel problems happened. When things go wrong—delays, illness, lost baggage—you want to know the hotel has your back. In our case, they absolutely did. The team handled issues quickly, calmly, and with genuine care, which made a stressful situation far easier and reassured us we were in good hands.
One general observation: you do need to be comfortable with slower service at restaurants, the pool, and similar areas. It’s not necessarily a negative, but it’s part of the pace—you’ll enjoy it more if you come prepared and allow extra time.
To close where I began: the difference-maker here was the people. Reitish Choudhary, Vandita, Humani, and Anand delivered the kind of service that builds real loyalty. They didn’t just host us—they truly took care of us.
