We had an excellent experience at Surya Hospital from the very beginning. The entire process from admission to surgery and post-operative care was handled smoothly and professionally. The doctors DIlip Rajpal, Dr Kim D ‘Souza consulting Anaethesiologist were highly skilled, reassuring, and took the time to explain every step clearly, which gave us great confidence. The nursing staff and support team Mr. Prakash Khetre and TPA team were extremely caring, attentive, and always available to help with patience and kindness. The hospital maintains good hygiene standards, and the coordination among departments was seamless. We are truly grateful to the entire team at Surya Hospital for their dedication and compassionate care, which made a stressful time much more manageable for our family.
The Doctors are very good. My mother recently had a surgery through Dr Kirti and Dr Prashant Nyati. They both are excellent doctors very patient, perfect and gave us the best treatment.
However, experience with the hospital staff and admin has not been satisfactory. During discharge, found a very indifferent and confused attitude from the staff, sisters etc. They appear too overworked and hence they seem to be in a hurry to finish with the patient. The hospital does not even have a bag to be given to patient along with medicine to be taken back. They just wanted us to sign the discharge papers. During mediclaim submission the post discharge medicines and dressing were not included and we ended up spending from our pocket.
While the hospital is very good and very conveniently located for Chembur residents, they need to ensure good facilities. I had come here about 8 months back for my daughter as well. But at that time the experience was far better.
Suggestion: hospital must use the Same bed during operation and post op. Moving the patient after operation using the roller from OT bed to Room bed is a risky proposition and a lot depends on strength of the nurse and housekeeping staff.

Surya Hospital is a very good place for maternity and newborn care. The doctors are knowledgeable, calm, and give clear guidance at every step. The NICU team is especially impressive — they are skilled, attentive, and handle even critical babies with great care. Their regular updates and supportive attitude give a lot of confidence to parents.
The hospital is clean, well organised, and has modern facilities. The staff, from nurses to support teams, is generally polite and helpful. The overall environment feels safe and professional, which is very important during pregnancy and newborn treatments.
One thing to keep in mind is that the hospital is a little expensive compared to some other centres. However, the level of care, especially in the NICU, feels worth it because of the expertise and attention the babies receive.
