So they upgraded my room! It was a pleasant stay. Loved the hospitality! If you are a girl & planing to stay alone in Bombay - this is the best place.
Unsafe and poorly maintained stay
I stayed at this hotel on 19/12/25 and had multiple problems during my stay. The room key card repeatedly stopped working, so I had to go to the reception several times just to enter my room, which was very inconvenient.
The washroom door did not close properly, which was uncomfortable.
Most worrying, there were multiple knocks on my door even though I had not requested any service, which made me feel unsafe and disturbed my sleep. Because of the poor maintenance and lack of security, I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again.
Having a bad experience at Suncity Apollo Hotel in colaba. Service, maintenance, and food not at all matching the charges. It's been just few hours and the issues are mounting every hour. Key cards don't work, showers don't work, the spread for buffet breakfast is strictly limited and taste wise less than average.
Regretting our decision to book here.
I will appreciate the property as I got a room during the peak season where others in my list had no availability. The hotel is not exactly reasonable as far as room rent is concerned but then you have to spend if you want to be close to the Gateway of India. The location is great with the Colaba Causeway just opposite, Gateway of India just 150 meters away, Cafe Mondegar, Leopold cafe, Delhi Darbar & Bade-miyan all in proximity. Room I got was comfortable though some debugging may be done. Best part was they provided a newspaper that I’m fond of. The buffet breakfast was good & service prompt. At checkout there was some delay though at reception. Don’t expect a great view.
I have been staying at this hotel in Colaba, Mumbai every year and always considered myself a loyal customer. However, this year I was extremely disappointed with my experience.
During my stay of 8 days, I faced repeated disturbances — staff knocking on my door three times while I was asleep. If I don’t answer the first time, it’s common sense and basic courtesy not to keep knocking.
On the day of checkout, the situation got even worse. The staff kept calling and knocking, rushing me to leave. I finally checked out around 1:30 and went to the reception to address the matter, but instead of listening to me, the lady at the reception immediately said “Bring the key.” No greeting, no manners, no hospitality.
After being a regular guest for years, I feel very disappointed by the lack of professionalism and respect shown this time. Hospitality is not only about providing a room, but also about treating guests with courtesy and care.
