The food options, preparation, and service is top notch. The servers are courteous and prompt if you are humane to them first. It's a mughlai themed restaurant so don't expect Chinese and other fast food.
The restaurant doesn't offer parking, but that's the bane of most South Mumbai places, especially on a weekend.
Kheema Pav Review: Heaven‑Level Street Fix
This is the version you tell people about: hot keema—fine‑grain mutton, tomatoes, green chili—heaped on a plate with butter‑licked pav maska toasted till the edges crunch. Special Chai arrives in a huge glass, milky‑sweet with ginger bite, just enough to cut the fat. You break pav, drag it through keema, sip chai, repeat. It’s messy, fast, and perfect at 8 am when the stall lights flick on. You really do have to eat it there to get the story. 10/10, no substitutes.
Went here because it was recommended in the Dishoom book but felt very disappointed. Ordered bun maska with chai and we were served a stale crumbly brioche that the server picked up from a box, packaged in a plastic wrap. The bun looked like a burger bun and had little nibs of colorful jelly mixed in. The people around us were eating proper bun maskas with pav and it seemed to me that we have perhaps been served a bastardized version intentionally to cater to our foreign palates. I asked the waiter if we can get the same dish as the other guests were eating, but English was obviously a problem and we have just received the bill and the waiter cleaned the table. I hope this was just a misunderstanding, but if you are a western tourist, eat elsewhere.
Stepping into this Colaba landmark feels like a journey back in time, with its vintage marble topped tables and weathered chairs preserving an authentic antique charm.
I recently stopped by for breakfast; the Kheema Pav stood out, and the Paya was flavourful for its uncharacteristically thick gravy, a welcome departure from the usual thin broth.
While the service is impressively efficient.
Keep in mind that they are strictly cash-only. Overall, a solid, no-frills experience.
Age old eatery on Colaba Causeway. Sharing table with large crowd and a reasonable wait period. Service is polite and prompt. Day's specialty gets over by midday. Menu is large and very economically priced, taste is very average and touristic.
