Visited Nandan Coffee in Fort, Mumbai, and it turned out to be much more than just a coffee stop. Housed in a beautifully restored heritage building, the café offers a calm, elegant atmosphere that's perfect for slow mornings, reading, or catching up with friends. Their specialty coffee is sourced from their own organic estate in Kodaikanal, resulting in rich, well-balanced brews with distinct flavour profiles. The food complements the coffee well, and the overall experience feels thoughtfully curated. A great spot for coffee lovers who appreciate both quality brews and a charming ambience
Nandan Coffee is a well-located spot near the Fort–Colaba side with a really nice vibe.
Personally, the coffee was average for me—around 3.5/5—maybe I just ordered the wrong one.
That said, the hospitality truly stands out.
The staff is warm, polite, and welcoming.
Overall, a pleasant place to sit, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere.
Love the location and the ambience. But I think somewhere cafés in Mumbai are focusing too much on presentation over substance. While the coffees were great the food is too expensive for the quantity and the taste. Most of the small plates are not a fit as accompaniment with coffee or matcha in my opinion the menu needs massive overhaul. The rosti tasted like alloo gobhi burnt sabzi and the tomato and onions on it don’t go with coffee or matcha. Eggs are not accompanied with breads so you order for eggs and separately for breads and avocados if you like! The bill was too high, and the food was below average. I expected so much better.
It was mid-morning and really wanted some caffeine. As usual the outside temperature was hot and quickly found this cafe that looked promising. As soon I went inside , I was pleasantly surprised with the incredible interior. Everything was nicely decorated, warm wood tones, cool temperature inside and great staff.
The menu first - so happy that menu is clearly labeled with all the allergens. As a vegan, this was pleasing. Don’t care if you have a couple items on the menu, but glad they are marked. Thank you.
Had a Dark Chocolate Affogato. First had the espresso a little bit and it was so good. So smooth with a little cream and with fruity tones. With ice cream, the espresso was divine.
Wish I could go Mumbai downtown more to have their other coffee offerings. Next time I am in Mumbai for sure.
Items I tried here:
1) Iced Brown Butter Cookie Mocha
2) Mediterranean Spiced Eggs
3) Mushroom Tartine
4) Tiramisu French Toast
Overall Review:
The ambience at Nandan Coffee House is cozy and calming, which makes the short wait feel worth it. The food is flavourful, well-balanced, and clearly prepared with attention to detail. While it is slightly on the pricier side, the quality of the food justifies the cost. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit, if you’re in South Bombay!
