I visited Lotus Eye Hospital on 6th April 2026 for a cataract check-up of my right eye and was examined by Dr. Radhika Karkera. I was informed that my cataract was matured and immediate surgery was required. I was then referred to retina specialist Dr. Karishma Bhate, who advised me to undergo 2 YAG laser shots before cataract surgery.
When I later asked Dr Radhika Karkera whether the retina procedure was absolutely necessary, especially since other consultations did not mention any retina issue,She screamed like something and said I will never perform the surgery unless yag Lazer procedure is done I felt disappointed with the way the conversation was handled. I was told that cataract surgery would not be possible without the retina procedure.
To be sure, I took a second opinion from two other eye specialists, and both confirmed that there were no retina-related concerns. My cataract surgery was later completed smoothly done at a other hospital without any retina procedure.
My humble suggestion to patients is: whenever you are advised additional procedures or urgent surgery, do consider taking a second opinion for clarity and confidence before proceeding.
I would suggest any and every one, Togo to Lotus eye hospital, for any eye problems, I have been operated for both my eyes, recommend also my nephew, now my wife also got operated at same Lotus eye hospital.
It is cashless, I have star insurance, the hospital staff has done all my paperwork too.
I stay at Kalyan, still I go all the way to Juhu Lotus eye hospital.
Best of Doctors, Best staff, most clean hospital, therefore I would suggest to every person.
This is also a charitable hospital.
We came at 11 am in the morning and now the time is 1:30pm we are still in the line. And doctors are not in their cabins. When I complained about this they are telling "is process mai time lagta hai" Time?? What the hell 3hrs + latte hai kya jabki there are not that much of patients. They are saying doctors are busy seeing other patients. And saying ki aap Bashar jaske feedback dedo rudely. We also have lots of work to do can't wait for this much time. Worst eye hospital in juhu. We have paid them free mai nahi karwa rahe hai. Saare doctors aalsi hai and rudely baate kar rahe hai. You can see the the line they are sitting from when.
Good doctors and staff. Great for cataract surgery. Only negative is toilet outside lab room stinks because it is an English toilet and lab patients take urine samples so they suse the floor.. Trustees should install Indian toilet outside lab. First floor division is good.
I had been at lotus on 30 th December for eye check up. I had called before going the receptionist very politely answered my question, when I went at counter no. 1 there also she answered my query with at smile. Gave recepit & form told to go in counter where my eyes was check by machine & he attach a slip told to go to next counter where a Dr check my glasses no. & she put different glass in frame & ask to read gave no., was send to next Dr there when Dr check my eye sight she told it's good. Every year once a year I check but this time was one month late, but she told no. Is same but come again after 6 month.
As it was 2.45 pm so I didn't got waiting . Hospital is very neat & clean staff is good, even the ward boys.. I felt nice to see them so humble.
This hospital has ♿accessibility facility at the entrance on right side there are wheels chairs kept.
