I had heard a lot about the famous ice cream sandwiches at Rustom & Co. from a friend, so I finally decided to visit. Honestly, I was shocked by the crowd! The rush was unbelievable—I never imagined this place was so popular. It felt just like standing in a long queue at a ticket counter.
After waiting for about 10–15 minutes, we finally placed our order. It genuinely felt like an achievement! The shop itself is very old and simple; looking at it, you wouldn’t guess how famous it is.
I tried the Mango Ice Cream Sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. The ice cream tasted fresh, rich, and homemade. I was actually wondering how they manage to keep the ice cream so perfectly firm. The combination of creamy ice cream placed between two wafers was simple yet amazing.
If you’re visiting Churchgate, this place is definitely worth trying at least once. Great taste, nostalgic charm, and an experience you’ll remember.
Highly recommended! 🍦✨
An iconic ice cream shop in Mumbai. They sell ice cream sandwich that uses wafers instead of bread. From what I saw, it seems like they still use old-school methods to make the ice cream. The price is quite cheap and they only accept cash. When it's crowded, be ready to wiggle your way to the front to order and pay for it; the staff seemed to be good in remembering the order "queue", so it's still fine. I ordered the King Mango flavor and it was quite a good ice cream to battle the heat in Mumbai.
This is one of the most iconic ice cream places in Bombay.
Honestly they could have maintained it much better than what it still is.
The queue system is not great and good luck getting your order if there is a rush.
No place to sit and eat you have to stand on the sidewalk and have your ice cream.
The Mango in a cup is not worth it please skip it, doesn't taste much like mango.
Their other signature ice creams are good but not like they used to be.
If you have never been here before then it's a must try.
Also note this is a Cash Only place, they don't accept online payments or cards.
This old ice cream shop is known for its unique wafer ice creams.
They only accept cash payments, so keep that in mind before visiting.
I tried the pista, fresh banana pista, and walnut flavours — all tasted really good.
would love to visit this place again.
I visited K. Rustom & Co Ice Cream Parlour near Churchgate, and it was a delightful experience that felt both nostalgic and satisfying. The place has an old-world charm that immediately stands out. From the simple setup to the long-standing reputation, everything about it feels rooted in tradition rather than trends.
The ice cream sandwiches are clearly the highlight here, and they did not disappoint. I tried a classic combination, and the thick, creamy ice cream paired with soft wafers tasted incredibly rich and fresh. The flavors are straightforward but very well done, without being overly sweet. You can tell that the focus is on quality rather than variety or presentation.
What I really liked was the no-frills approach of the place. There is no seating or fancy décor, yet people patiently line up just for the taste. Watching customers from different age groups enjoying their ice creams made the visit feel warm and familiar. It is one of those places where the experience is as much about the memory as it is about the food.
Overall, K. Rustom & Co is a must-visit if you are in Mumbai. It offers simple, honest ice cream and leaves you with a smile and a sense of nostalgia.
