Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Maharana Inn. The hotel is perfectly located on the main road, making it very easy to find and extremely convenient for accessing all modes of transport. Major attractions like Siddhivinayak Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple, and the Gateway of India are easily reachable from here. Being attached to Kamat Hotel is truly a bonus—especially for South Indian food lovers.

The staff were exceptionally polite, attentive, and supportive. They promptly addressed all our concerns, guided us with the best commute options for sightseeing, and even helped us by safely storing our luggage after checkout until the evening. The bathroom was spotless and well maintained, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. Overall, it was a comfortable, hassle-free, and memorable stay. Highly recommended!

Room was clean, room service and food was great, food quantity and quality was up to standard. We had a road facing room and I learned then Mumbai don't sleep, it was noisy. My room had a fridge and coffee station which was helpful. I realise the decent hotels offer this but no microwave. Anyway love from Jamaica 🇯🇲 💕

Excellent hotel for Accommodation, it is reasonably priced. The room are well maintained and service is good. There is a Vegetarian restaurant attached in the ground floor. I have been using this hotel for my Mumbai visits. Conveniently located.

The only draw back is are a Noisy room if you take a road facing room.

The staff was polite, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location is convenient and easily accessible. Overall, it was a pleasant and relaxing experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Disappointing experience due to unnecessary restrictions

I have been staying at Hotel Maharana, Chembur for the past two days. To be fair, the room staff and overall service are decent for the price, and that part of the stay was satisfactory.

However, one experience has completely changed my opinion and is the main reason I would not choose to stay here again.

While I was sitting in the lounge area near the basement entrance—an area clearly furnished with sofas for guests—I was on a phone call and wearing shorts. The watchman approached me and told me I was not allowed to sit there wearing shorts. This was shocking and unreasonable. I was wearing proper shorts, not inappropriate clothing, and was simply using a common seating area that is otherwise almost always vacant.

On another occasion, while sitting in the same place, I was drinking a Red Bull, and the same watchman instructed me not to keep my drink on the table placed next to the sofa. Again, no logical explanation was given.

When I questioned these rules, I was told, “The bosses don’t like it.” As someone who works in the hospitality industry with reputed properties abroad, I have never encountered such arbitrary and unprofessional restrictions in public guest areas. If personal preferences of management dictate such behavior, then this should be clearly communicated—or perhaps such rules belong in private spaces, not a hotel meant to welcome paying guests.

Wearing shorts, talking on the phone, and having a non-alcoholic beverage in a public area is completely normal and acceptable in hospitality worldwide.

I strongly suggest that the management revisits these rules and, more importantly, trains their staff to be more polite, professional, and guest-oriented. Hospitality is about comfort and respect, not unnecessary control.

Room is a small but all essential items are there.
Everyday cleaning is the best part and the staffs are very helpful and cordial.
Location is the main attraction.
Hope, in my next visit would like to stay here.
