Visited Granth Book Store in Juhu recently and honestly felt a little disappointed with the overall customer experience. A bookstore is usually expected to feel welcoming and comfortable for readers, but the staff behavior did not reflect that warmth.
While I was casually clicking pictures of the bookstore, one of the helpers stopped me and said photography was not allowed. What felt confusing was that the Google reviews of the same store already contain several visitor-clicked photos. If photography policies exist, they should at least be communicated politely and consistently.
Another uncomfortable part of the experience was the way the staff constantly observed us while we were browsing books, almost as if customers were being viewed with suspicion rather than trust. Browsing peacefully is one of the most enjoyable parts of visiting a bookstore, and unfortunately that comfort was missing here.
The bookstore itself has a lovely collection, which is why I genuinely hope the management works on creating a more welcoming and customer-friendly environment for book lovers.
Nice little bookstore. Smaller selection than I hoped, but some good finds. Peaceful seating area overlooking the busy street below.
Granth Bookstore is a wonderful literary haven in Mumbai. That you can also grab an in-house coffee is an added bonus! The staff are helpful (but don’t get in your way!) and quickly clue into your tastes and help advice on other books you might be interested in. A wonderful visit, which left my wallet lighter but my bedside table overflowing!
Granth is a really nice book shop with a wide variety of books, i purchased a really lovely book on French desserts and i aim to bake every recipe in that book. Thank you for motivating me! Also enjoy a fresh coconut around the corner when you get here!
SO good!!! Helpful & knowledgeable staff. They were able to direct us to some specific interests on books that were historical, Indian authored, & in English. A wonderful quiet respite from the noise of Bombay.
