Fictionary Bookstore & Cafe

Ordered two books from the Long Game series by Rachel Reid from Fictionary online store under their “UK procurement” listing for ₹1798 total, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing.

The books arrived in a torn paper bag with no bubble wrap or protective packaging at all. The books themselves also felt very poor in quality for the price charged, the covers felt like stiff paper/card stock instead of a regular paperback finish, the edges looked unevenly cut, and there was visible text bleed-through from the other side of the pages.

When I raised these concerns on WhatsApp, I was told “that’s how they were printed” and was offered a return. I paid from my own pocket to courier the books back and immediately shared photos of the packed return parcel as proof of the condition in which I sent them.

However, after that, the original number I had been communicating with stopped responding, and communication shifted to another number, where I was suddenly told the books had been received “torn and damaged” and that a refund could not be issued.

After multiple follow-ups and several days of silence, they eventually agreed to process the refund, but it has now been over 2–3 weeks and I still have not received my money.

Very disappointed with both the product quality and the customer service experience. Buyers should be cautious, especially when purchasing imported/procured books.

I’ve previously visited their physical store and had a few good online order experiences as well, which is why this situation was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, this particular order and the handling of the refund process were very poorly managed.

As someone who primarily reads fiction and loves spending time in bookstores, Fictionary feels like a little slice of heaven and one of my favourite comfort places in the city.

The selection is thoughtfully curated, the events are always fun and engaging, and the team consistently gives fantastic recommendations. There is something special about being able to browse books, discover your next great read, and enjoy a coffee all in the same space.

A wonderful addition to Mumbai’s reading community and a place I find myself returning to again and again.

Cute and aesthetic place. Loved it genuinely. The staff there were helpful and kind loved them! There's Masa bakery which is connected to the bookstore. They have a wonderful collection of books, several of them were the titles that I have never even heard of even as a voracious reader. Definitely gonna come back here once again! (Not once but several lol)

Plus the orange cat is adorable( I don't know its name tho 😭)

A Cozy Little Escape for Book Lovers.
Fictionary is the cutest little book cafe tucked away on a quiet road in Bandra, making it the perfect peaceful escape from the city buzz. It’s easily accessible, yet feels like a hidden gem.
You can sip on a comforting cup of coffee, munch on some light bites, and take your sweet time deciding which fiction titles you’re about to hoard next. The space has a warm, inviting vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer.
They also stock some adorable bookish merchandise that any reader would love. Overall ,Fictionary is definitely worth a visit if you are around Bandra.

Quite a good book shop, which has a cafe inside.
Amazing collection of books.
The staff is also polite and helpful.
Hosts good events for kids like book swap and treasure hunt.
The place has great vibe to it.
Highly recommend!
