Our experience was deeply unsettling and, frankly, distressing.
We approached him through a trusted referral and were asked to come for an OPD consultation. He reviewed the reports and stated that treatment was needed. That much was expected. What followed was not.
As caregivers, we began asking questions. These were not frivolous or confrontational questions, but basic, necessary ones that anyone responsible for a loved one’s care would ask. Instead of explanations or reassurance, our questions were dismissed as “stupid.” We were told that since we have Google, we should ask Google rather than a doctor with “30 years of experience.” If we already had the answers, we would not have come seeking medical guidance.
When we asked about treatment costs so we could arrange funds, there was a complete refusal to engage. No range, no context, no sensitivity. This was not about negotiation. It was about preparedness. The lack of transparency felt careless and deeply unempathetic.
Titles, hospitals, and years of experience mean nothing when compassion is absent. Whether one sits at a marquee hospital like Lilavati, Gleneagles, Raheja or a modest clinic, patients are paying for time, clarity, and respect. None of that was present here.
This was not just a bad consultation. It was an experience that left us feeling belittled, unheard, and uneasy about intent.
Medicine demands more than expertise. It demands empathy, humility, and accountability. Based on our experience, this is not a place I would ever recommend to a patient or caregiver already carrying the weight of illness.

Dr Pavan kumar is best in complex heart surgery. I say this firmly because My father Jitendra Kene 45 yrs male had a whole in the heart since his birth.
