Dr. Ashwin Mehta is a true lifesaver and a national treasure! At 84 years old, my father-in-law was recommended bypass surgery, but Dr. Mehta skillfully performed a 3-hour complex angioplasty instead, saving him from major open-heart surgery. Today, he’s stable and recovering well at home.
Padmashree and Padmabhushan awards are well-deserved—his expertise, compassion, and steady hands made all the difference for our family. From critical condition to steady recovery, Dr. Mehta delivered a miracle.

Respected Sir is the kindest, most talented, exemplary doctor and an extraordinary human being. His approach immediately makes the family and the patient feel comfortable and at ease. He spends ample of time personally examining and taking history of the patient. He does not just rely on what is being told, he goes through everything thoroughly himself and spends time listening to all the problems and concerns of the patient, which is rare for a man of his stature .. he personally does all the procedures and truly he is the master of angioplasty, for even difficult vessels are of no challenge to him. We were completely satisfied with everything that Sir did for us. Right from booking our patient, to his visits, to his tailored treatment, his skill at angioplasty procedure, post procedure care, his clinic staff, hospital staff, team of doctors… no stones were left unturned in making our experience a comfortable and fruitful one. Dr Ashwin Mehta has done very good rotor and decalcification of my coronary artery which he only can do. I have similar experience earlier too in 2002 and 2013 angioplasty with him. Dr. A. B. Mehta, a distinguished member of the Cardiology Department, is recognized for his outstanding proficiency, particularly in the management of intricate cardiac conditions. At the age of 86, his expertise remains truly exceptional. Recently, a patient, my mother, presented with a critical arterial blockage requiring immediate attention. Despite the angiogram's indication for bypass surgery, Dr. Mehta adeptly managed the condition, successfully avoiding the need for surgical intervention. Following his treatment, my mother showed substantial improvement within 12 hours. His competence in this field is truly remarkable. Dr Mehta has been treating my mother-in-law for 21 years now.. She and the family have implicit faith in his diagnosis and treatment.. He always gives us a sense of comfort and spends more than adequate time on giving us a comprehensive analysis. During our interactions we have gotten to know Dr Mehta and are amazed at his knowledge on many other subjects that touch our lives on a daily basis. It is indeed great that he is so active and astute at his age. Dr Mehta has indeed touched the lives of many through his carrer and has done a lot for the society. albeit silently.
