Colaba Market, Mumbai
Colaba Market – Good for Women’s Accessories, But Bargain Hard*
Visited Colaba Market on a very busy day. Huge crowd and barely any space to walk.
All varieties of women’s accessories, bags, jewelry, shoes, and footwear. You’ll find tons of options here. Collection for men is very limited though.
1. *Bargaining is a must*: Prices are not fixed. Start at half the quoted price and negotiate. Rates depend on the person, not the product.
2. *Outsiders beware*: If you’re not from Mumbai, vendors can easily tell and often quote double the rate. Don’t fall for it.
3. *Crowd & parking*: Extremely crowded. No parking space nearby, so public transport is better.
4. *Safety*: Keep your belongings safe due to the heavy crowd.
In all, you can get almost everything for women here at decent rates _if_ you bargain well. Go for the experience and shop smart.
Have a safe purchase.
On both sides of the entire road are restaurants, clothing stores, showrooms of various expensive brands and some of the showrooms have amazing looking buildings. Combined, it creates an amazing feeling. An ideal shopping destination for tourists.
Colaba Causeway is not just street shopping — it’s smart shopping. If you know how to bargain, compare quality, and spot good deals, this market is a goldmine. It has the same vibe as Sarojini Nagar Market in Delhi: trendy clothes, accessories, shoes, bags, jewelry, and export-surplus fashion at prices that depend on your negotiation skills.
The market is full of energy, tourists, local shoppers, cafés, and hidden finds. Some shops quote high prices first, but smart buyers can get great deals. You need patience, confidence, and a good eye for quality. If you love bargaining and fashion hunting, Colaba Causeway is one of the best shopping experiences in Mumbai.
I am a guy from Delhi who travelled to Mumbai. I absolutely loved this market. Overall condition of clothes that are sold is much better than what sold in Delhi’s street markets like Sarojini or Atta or lajpat. Only issue was they weren’t allowing trying the hoodies and sweatshirts. Had my lunch at Cafe churchil in this market. There lasagna and banoffie is great
It's a fin place to bargain shop. You can find whatever you need. But please dont take the first price unless it's fixed and even then bargain. Someone tried selling me a trinket at first for 900 rupees at the end I got it for 100
