“The cleanliness in the girls’ dormitory was really good and the staff maintained the space well. However, one thing I didn’t like was that a few boys were smoking in the open common area. Since many guests sit there to eat food, relax, or work on their laptops, the smoke made it uncomfortable to stay there for long. I hope the management considers making the common sitting area smoke-free or creates a separate smoking zone for a better guest experience

Extremely pathetic, claustrophobic rooms. Kitchen sized is what the rooms are. Hygiene factor is not great too. No amenities whatsoever. Even the crowd when we went there was not great.

I have never had this bad of an experience. Kitchen for 4k+ is a literal waste. Images showcased on site are super deceptive and we felt scammed

Any other hotel at half of what they were charging is much better. You won't even feel like staying here for more than a minute.

I was such a bad experience that i felt that it is important to let this awareness be there and then people make a conscious choice

This was the worst hostel experience I’ve had.

I was allotted an 8-bed mixed dorm where the AC was not working at all. At night, the room became extremely suffocating and uncomfortable, making it almost impossible to sleep. I went to the front desk around 3:30 a.m., but no responsible staff was available. The person present said he “didn’t know anything” and that all other beds were full, offering no solution or support.

For a hostel, basic ventilation and temperature control are non-negotiable. The lack of functioning AC, combined with poor night-time staff response, made this stay very distressing.

I would not recommend this place, especially if you value basic comfort, safety, and accountability.

Scam-like behaviour | Forced hotel change | Zero accountability

I booked Backpackers Hostel Andheri through MakeMyTrip for Lollapalooza festival 2 months before. After reaching the property, I was denied the booked hostel and forcibly shifted to Hotel Royal Classic, claiming it was their “work extension property.” This is absolute nonsense and was never disclosed during booking.
They openly admitted that rooms were given to other guests who paid more, and instead of honouring my confirmed booking, I was told:
“If you don’t want it, cancel and try finding another stay.”
This is beyond unprofessional — it is arrogant, exploitative, and borderline fraudulent.
Imagine reaching your destination after payment and being told to hunt for another hotel on your own, despite a confirmed booking. No apology, no solution, no responsibility — just a casual “cancel and leave.”
Hotel Royal Classic is NOT what I booked, NOT what was advertised, and NOT what I paid for. This is deliberate misrepresentation and price discrimination.
If Backpackers Hostel cannot respect confirmed bookings, they should be removed from MakeMyTrip. Travellers, beware — your booking means nothing here if someone else pays more.
Worst hospitality experience I’ve had. Avoid at all costs.

When we showed up to property, they said that they had overbooked and our rooms weren't available. They took a reservation prepaid in full and without any prior communication at all, refused to provide rooms.
On top of that when I was checking for other hotels, I was able to book the same beds for the same dates just for 5x the price. Basically they claimed overbooking and kicked existing reservations to be able to take guests who were willing to pay 5x the money.
