*Warning: Honest Review of Seven Islands Shipping and Maritime Training Institute*
I am writing to share my disappointing experience with Seven Islands Shipping and its affiliated Maritime Training Institute. As a sponsored student who completed the ETO course, I was promised a guaranteed placement on one of their vessels. However, the reality is far from what was promised.
Despite completing all courses and obtaining necessary certificates, we've been waiting for over four months without any update on joining the vessel. More than 40 students, including myself, are still waiting for a chance to embark on this journey. The institute's promise of guaranteed placement seems like a mere marketing gimmick.
The working conditions on their vessels also raise concerns. With 26 ships and three trainee candidates sharing a single room on each vessel, the living arrangements seem cramped and uncomfortable. Moreover, the internship wages offered are alarmingly low.
The institute's response to our queries has been disappointing, asking us to wait for another 6-7 months for a potential joining opportunity. This delay and uncertainty have left many students, including myself, in a difficult position.
It's worth noting that current students seem to speak positively about the institute, but it appears to be more about maintaining the institute's reputation rather than sharing genuine experiences.
*Advice to Prospective Students:*
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against joining Seven Islands Maritime Training Institute without a reliable sponsorship. The institute's promises of guaranteed placement and good working conditions seem exaggerated, and the reality is far from satisfactory. If you're considering a career in the maritime field, it's essential to research thoroughly and explore other options that offer better placement opportunities and working conditions.
I hope this review will serve as a warning to prospective students and help them make informed decisions about their career choices.
