I recently visited PSK Lower Parel for my passport renewal & the entire process was incredibly smooth. I reached 30 minutes early but the staff checked my details & allowed me in right away. At the gate itself, I was guided on the first step to take. At the document quality check counter, I took a while to find my papers. The officer politely asked me to step aside so the next applicant could proceed without delay which I appreciated. There is a small photocopy counter inside if you miss any document & they accept both cash & GPay. Once you get your token number, you are directed to the booth for document submission & biometrics. After that, there are two more verification steps at separate counters. You will need to wait for your token to be called. The wait can be long & mobile network is poor inside. However, staff are helpful & friendly & also there is a snacks & coffee counter to keep you going. Overall, well organized & efficient.
Just visited the passport office and gotta say, the new staff are RESCUING the day! Fast and smiling. Skip the hassle, use Gate No 4, Trade View Building, Utopia City, Pandurang Budhkar Marg, Lower Parel.
Good experience here! The management is great, and the employees are cooperative.
The entire document verification process, moving from start to finish through the different sections, was incredibly smooth.
They have all the necessary facilities inside, including washrooms, a convenient Xerox service, and even a small coffee shop.
The flow is well-organized: you enter, complete the process, and exit through the back door. Just be aware that you are only allowed inside if you show your appointment text message.
Overall, it's a very hassle-free experience provided you have all your required documents ready, such as your form print, Aadhaar card (both hard copy and DigiLocker), PAN card, and 10th/12th certificates (original and Xerox)."
1. An appointment is mandatory to visit the Passport Seva Kendra; without one, you will not be allowed entry.
2. The PSK at Lower Parel is a 15-minute walk from Prabhadevi Station. You will also be able to get a taxi.
3. If you wish to come by car or bike, good paid parking facilities are available here.
4. The PSK at Lower Parel is located just behind the IKEA building.
5. After entering the IKEA building gate, you must go straight, and the PSK office is located on your left side.
6. After receiving the token, it may take 45 to 75 minutes for the passport processing.
7. Keep a photocopy of all the original documents along with it.
8. The staff is very nice and cooperative.
I visited the passport office today for the renewal of my child’s passport. While the initial process was simple, the waiting time has been extremely frustrating. I arrived at 12:30 PM and have been waiting for counter C since 1:15 PM.
The staff strength seems very low. Only two staff members are actively working, while others appear to be on leave or taking extended breaks. I also observed staff from Section C moving around in Section B and engaging in casual conversations instead of attending to applicants. This lack of focus only adds to the delays.
It is especially difficult for children to wait for such long periods under these conditions.
About five years ago, when the center was managed by Tata, the service was smooth and efficient. Unfortunately, the current experience is disappointing and feels like a waste of time.
Additionally, for the past hour, only Tatkal applicants are being attended to. It is unfair to make normal applicants wait indefinitely. Proper management should ensure both categories are handled efficiently.
Overall, the process needs improvement in staffing, supervision, and applicant prioritization to avoid causing inconvenience to families.
