I recently had a very disappointing experience with this decorator in Mumbai. They offer three packages: Basic for 1.75 lac, Standard for 2.50 lac, and Premium for 2.75 lac. Despite these high prices, they exploit customers by providing fewer facilities than promised on the day of the event and then charging extra for things we had already paid for.
After doing some research, I found out that this is a common issue with them. They lure you in with attractive packages and then create a situation where you have to pay more on the spot, taking advantage of the fact that you don’t have other options on the day of your event.
To make matters worse, the management is extremely rude and unprofessional. They don't know how to communicate with clients, making the entire experience even more stressful and unpleasant.
I strongly advise against using this decorator. Save yourself the trouble and avoid booking with them. There are plenty of other decorators who will respect your time and money.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - AVOID BOOKING WITH THEM:
I regretfully chose Hume School for my wedding venue and feel compelled to share my disappointing ordeal, hoping it might spare others from a similar fate:
1. Their pricing is exorbitant compared to other available banquet halls.
2. Initially, they quoted 2.75 lakhs for premium decoration, only to reduce it to 2.15 lakhs later, revealing their penchant for deceitful bargaining tactics under the guise of providing a 'discount'. Their intent is clear: to exploit your special occasion for maximum profit.
3. Opting for the basic decoration package, which was already priced steeply, I was further dismayed when, on the eve of my wedding, they proposed an additional 70k for retaining the same decorations for my event. This demand later dropped to an extra 30k, a move that laid bare their scheme to charge anything on top for what would essentially cost them "Nothing to maintain" (Seriously, which I later get to know from various relatives.)
4. They exploit the vulnerability of their clients, fully aware that the hosts' reputation is at stake, especially with a large guest list of 700-800. Cheap folks
5. Having selected the basic decoration option for 75k, I requested that tablecloths be placed on the dining chairs, a simple ask to which they responded with an outrageous additional charge of 20k. Yet, in a last-minute turn, they offered the premium decoration for an added 30k, taking undue advantage of the situation.
It's evident they believe they can outsmart their clients by engaging in such duplicitous practices, but let me be clear: such dishonesty earn money holds no real value in life, and is bound to have negative consequences.
Engaging in deceit/cheating your clients to inflate profits is not only unsustainable but unethical business.
I urge anyone considering their services to proceed with caution, or better yet, explore other venues. Their conduct is not only unacceptable but a disservice to the very essence of hospitality and event hosting.
